Fable 4 trailer, Xbox game pass news, and everything we know so far

Fable 4 trailer

Fable has grown a huge fan following over the years and now that the studio has hinted at another installment, we just can’t keep calm. We last saw Fable 3 in 2010 and it’s been a decade since we have had another addition to the epic series.

So let us break it down for you, what can we expect from the Fable 4 trailer and all the news surrounding it

All about Fable

Fable is a role-playing game series developed for various Microsoft platforms. Fable was first launched in 2004 and was developed by Big Blue box. Since then, the series has changed four developing studios with the upcoming installment being developed by Playground Games, the studio behind the legendary Forza Horizon series.

Each installment represents a specific period like the ‘Age of Enlightenment’ or the period of ‘The Industrial Revolution’. However, looking at the latest Fable 4 trailer, the attention is drawn towards an earlier age. Maybe the medieval era or the period before that. Still a bit difficult to decipher from the trailer alone. Here, take a look for yourself.

However, if we go by the general timeline, the series has established in the past with all its additions, this one seems to not follow that. It looked more like a reboot version rather than another sequel. Like God of War from the God of War franchise. By the way, God of War is coming to PC, have you heard about it? What platforms will it be available on?

Since the game is being published by Microsoft, it is most probably going to be an Xbox exclusive and seriously we are not complaining. The game will be available to play across several Xbox platforms including the Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PC. The game will also be available through the Xbox game Pass.

What do we know about the current status of the game?

The previous studio that developed the Fable game shut down in 2016. Therefore, the new studio picked up the hit series and started developing the same a year later. Although we are not sure about the exact years of development, one of the developers on the Fable 4 team from Playground studios tweeted about how excited he was about the game and how it’s been four years since he started working for the same.

So, it is safe to say that the game has been in development for around four years now. And if this is true it wouldn’t be long when we get more Fable 4 trailer along with the release date and other goodies.

About the Fable 4 trailer:

As of now, there is only one trailer that has been revealed by the team. It’s a minute-long trailer or as I like to call it a teaser as it doesn’t give us much about the game. The trailer that is available on YouTube shows us what we can only interpret as a fantasy world from some medieval era that is totally different from the timeline the series has been following up until now. The trailer featured forests, huge toads, a fairy, a sword and what looked like a castle in the distance.

So yes, as much as the Nancy Drew in me wished to uncover more, that was all I could decipher from the minute-long Fable 4 trailer.

The team

Thanks to the post from VGC, we now have a glimpse of the legendary team that is behind Fable 4. Starting with the chief designer of the game, Will Kennedy from Grand Theft Auto V is reported to have taken on that role.

The team also has two major players- Hunter Wright from Borderland Games and Juan Fernández de Simón from Ninja Theory Hell blade are adding their expertise to the whole thing.

As for the story team, the awesome scriptwriting team from the Batman: Arkham Knight are on the Fable 4 developing board. Kim MacAskill joined the team in 2019.

The environment and character art are being taken care of by Ubisoft designers that are veterans in their field of expertise.

The recruits

As the new associate chief designer, Steve Thornton from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, a few LEGO titles and Halo Infinite has joined the array of professionals leading the development team.

Another well-known recruit is none other than Anna Megill who publicly announced her departure from Massive Entertainment and joining at Playground Games. She will be the lead writer for the epic game.

The gameplay

Considering the studio that is developing the game, we can expect the gameplay to include a lot of the studio’s iconic aspects in it.

Straight from Forza, the new video game- Fable 4 can include the dynamic and immersive weather system that the former game was so well praised for. Imagine seeing the different seasons and the effects it will have on the storyline and gameplay, it will just add to the overall immersive experience of the game.

Secondly, we think the game, in general, would have an open-world theme that would open up opportunities to explore the vast enchanting world inside the game. The Fable 4 trailer also showed a world full of possibilities.

The possible release date

The game has been in the development stage for years now and we think it would take a few more. The information and reveals are too little to state anything for sure at the moment. However, at a recent IGN podcast, Phil Spencer hinted that Fable 4 could be made available before Elder Scroll 6. Well, for now, all we can say is time will tell.

Stay tuned for more updates!
